On a flight from Basel to Amsterdam I flew over the port of Rotterdam during sunset. You can see the part called Maasvlakte just above the wing. It's the entrance of a lot of cargo to central Europe. This was probably my first and last flight on a Fokker 70 since they'll be retired at the end of October. It will be a sad day, because it's the last piece of dutch aviation history flying in Holland.

This is a 747 in the new livery. It will be here for a few more years while most of the other KLM 747's are being phased out.

Because winter time has started, Qatar's daily departure is approximately 1 hour before sunset. A few clouds in the sky make some nice sunrays and color the spray behind the wheels.

If i remember correctly, 2 years ago was the last visit of an Antonov 124 to Schiphol. I was very delighted to hear this one would visit in 2018! It departs on a sunny spring afternoon.

It operated a charter flight from Girona to Rotterdam for the Grand Prix of Spain. Arrival in Rotterdam was long after sunset, but luckily not all the light was gone yet. The apron lights illuminate the plane quite nicely!

Returning from a transatlantic mission, this KLM is putting its wheels down very gently on a beautiful summer morning.

One of KLM's 737's ready to depart for another European trip in the evening.

After a beautiful winters day the clouds were lit up incredibly by the sun on this day. The pink color of the clouds is quite remarkable. After landing this SAS CRJ-900 needs about 20 minutes to taxi to the gate, because of the long distance from the Polderbaan to the terminal.

Right after sunset, this KLM 737 departs the Polderbaan at Schiphol for another European roundtrip.

In perfect conditions, the A330 is always the best plane to make vortex, condensation and cloudbursts.

In some beautiful evening light this Etihad 777 is being spotted by many aviation enthousiasts from the official Schiphol spotting place.

With runway 18C out of use due to maintenance, runway 27 becomes the second inbound runway during rush hours, providing good opportunities for sunset pictures.

One of the more beautiful sunrises I've ever seen makes for a great background for this brand new A350 coming into Schiphol.
